President Ronald Reagan, 1911-2004

Former President Ronald Reagan died today at the age of 93 after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

The condolences of an entire nation go out to Mrs. Reagan and their family.

Politics and the red vs. blue are put aside as the nation mourns the passing of the 40th President of the United States.

Decline to State

Well, that was easy, but kind of a big deal. I changed my voter registration status. I can't quite abide by the Democratic Party anymore. John Kerry only barely stands for what I believe in and I am disgusted to see this race, yet again, as a vote for the lesser of two evils.

I really like Howard Dean and could have really gotten behind him. He seems like the kind of guy that cares about the country and its people and wants to do the right thing. Bush seems driven only by money and religion. Kerry seems to be driven by vainglory only because he's the "front-runner". But he's not a strong candidate on any level. Except that he's tall. But that didn't help Al.

Bottom line is this: there's no way I want to be a member of a party that even floats a trial balloon of putting "the other party" on the ticket to try to win an election. If these people don't have enough convictions in their beliefs, then how can I? What's there for me to get behind? Do they realize they're just making Ralph Nader's case for him?
